DiveGurus Staff
Aside from the natural beauty of Boracay Island itself and the surrounding dive sites, the main reason DiveGurus has a large number of repeat customers is the personal and friendly service they receive from the very multi-cultural DiveGurus staff. Here the key members of the "DG family":
Jung Eun Yoon is our vivacious and highly-certified Tubbataha and Apo Reef expert. Sorbonne-trained as a translator, she speaks flawless English and French and after a few glasses of wine, passable German! Jung Eun is a dedicated "macro" diver and she can point out unbelievably well-camouflaged flora and fauna. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Edwin Paradas is a real DiveGurus "baby": he did all his recreational level training at DiveGurus as well as working his way up through the ranks and fulfilling duties such as compressor operator, crewman on the liveaboard MY Tabibuga, dive gear repair specialist and more recently as a divemaster.
He partook in the Rescue Search & Recovery training of the local "Rescue Squadron 505". In order to gain more experience and study different dive operations, he worked a stint at the famous El Nido Resort in Palawan. In 2007 he accomplished his PADI Instructor Development Course with Sea Explorers in Dauin, Negros Oriental.
Edwin is an avid diver and well-versed in pointing out the special marine life that abounds at the local Boracay dive sites.

Mylen "Ga" Arboleda is our friendly and helpful shop manager. Ga takes great pride in her ability to assist DiveGurus customers in making the most out of their holidays. She represents the best of Filipino hospitality and she is well-known for her "can do!" attitude. She is a Rescue Diver who may progress further up the PADI ladder but at the moment she leaves the dive instruction side to her husband Jojo who was recently certified an OWSI.

Odessa "Des" Pabelonia is another mainstay of the DiveGurus family. Her friendliness and helpfulness just makes the "DG diving experience" special, even out of the water. Des is a local girl with three children and a husband, Noel, who helps out with any transport arrangements needed by DiveGurus. Des hails from Kalibo Aklan, loves shrimps and has a sweet tooth. She enjoys shallow dives in coral fields but is not yet certified.

Captain Simplicio "Junior" Orese is quite simply one of the best boat captains around Boracay Island. When things are going well and the weather is calm, no one really notices the work he does but when the waves are big, the current strong and the wind has picked up to typhoon strength, he is the tried and tested man you want at the helm of the boat looking to pick you up. His performance is one of the main reasons the DG service and experience is a cut above the rest. Junior is a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, loves diving on Camia wreck and can well relate to his passengers!
These are the people who will help make your stay with DiveGurus a pleasant and memorable one. Mabuhay!
