Overview
The SSI Sidemount Diving Specialty teaches you how to configure, manage, and dive with dual cylinders mounted at your sides. You’ll improve your trim, redundancy, and flexibility underwater while learning gas switching procedures, equipment configuration, and buoyancy control adapted to sidemount setups.
Training includes theory sessions, equipment workshops, and in-water practice in both shallow and open water dives, all guided by experienced SSI instructors. You’ll emerge confident in using sidemount gear in a recreational diving environment.
Course includes:
Theory and gear workshop sessions
Confined water practice and open water dives using sidemount configuration
Certification upon completion
Access to SSI app and digital learning materials
Use (or rental) of sidemount equipment
Boat transfers to dive sites
Prerequisites:
SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
Minimum age 10 years (or whatever your shop requires)
Comfort in water and ability to handle standard open water diving skills
