Carabao Island
Start depth: 8 meters
Maximum depth: 40 meters
Cathedral Cave is located at the northern end of Carabao Island. It is one of the more dramatic dive sites around Boracay and Romblon, favored by experienced divers who are comfortable with deeper walls, overhead features, and variable conditions. The site features a large cavern entrance set into a reef wall, with cracks, fissures, and swim-throughs that lead into parts of the cave system when the tide and sea are calm.
Inside and around the cave, you may spot large pelagic species, particularly in the blue outside the opening. Moorish idols are often present, and the reef walls support both hard and soft corals in good condition. Because of its depth and cave-like structure, Cathedral Cave requires strong buoyancy control, good dive planning, and attention to conditions. The dive is usually done during flat sea days; rough seas or strong swell may make access difficult or unsafe.
