Balinghai

Start depth: 8 meters
Maximum depth: 40 meters

Balinghai is a dramatic and varied dive site with two parallel walls running close together. The shallower wall is carved with small holes and overhangs, home to anthias, gobies, lionfish, triggerfish, puffers, and bannerfish. The deep wall plunges steeply and often attracts larger visitors such as sharks and tuna patrolling the drop-off.

Divers also encounter moray eels, schoolers like trevallies, and healthy coral growth along both walls. Some sections include artificial reef balls that have become thriving microhabitats. The depth, structure, and marine life at Balinghai make it a favorite among intermediate divers seeking vertical scenery and occasional encounters with pelagic species.

Its varied terrain means you can drift between walls or explore nooks and crevices. Conditions such as current and visibility can shift, so Balinghai is best when dived with confident buoyancy control.
